In line with the IOEC upstream development plan, the Drilling Department was formed in 2015 as a response to the requirements of the South Pars Gas Field Phase 14 drilling project.
The IOEC drilling department benefits from experienced experts specialized in well engineering, subsurface, and drilling operation engineering. The operations are supported by other disciplines such as HSEQ, planning and cost control, procurement, contracts, and logistics so that IOEC can implement all aspects of exploration, development, drilling, and completion of wells in offshore and onshore projects.
This includes full-field studies including all reservoir modeling aspects; field feasibility studies; field development plans; detail well design; notices of operation; and drilling and completion programs.

The proprietary IOEC integrated drilling management system guarantees all aspects of the operation interface well within the platform, topside and well construction, and all drilling services, including but not limited to jack-up drilling unit management, directional drilling services, mud, cementing, casing running, wellhead services, wireline logging, perforation, well testing and completion are accounted for. The system adheres to project quality standards, key performance indices for service companies, and operational performance.
The drilling department follows a full cycle of planning, control, execution, and evaluation. The planning phase consists of conceptual and detailed design using internationally recognized standards, software, and expertise.
Well, delivery and execution follow with an integrated system of implementation, taking into account timely delivery through real-time monitoring and supervision at well sites. Performance is evaluated against pre-determined benchmarks, service company KPIs and project milestones.
All lessons learned are captured and disseminated through our knowledge management system to be used in future operations.
